Comment
Symptoms were narrated to me by the patient's mother. Certainly with the repetitive issues in health, there is an underlying chronic condition.
Progress Observation
12 Jan 2016
- In mother's own words, "she is not having stomach ache".
- "Neck pain stopped."
- "Asthma not too bad."
- "Easier to breath but still got chest congestion."
- "Scratching is less."
- "But she is very clingy, telling me to not leave her. She is scared I will leave her."
- "Blowing out of thick mucous from nose. Didn't notice the mucous colour."
- "Her talking is markedly improved. Still shy with strangers but she finds words to express herself very well."
- "Congestion, the cough is hoarse, like still cannot come out."
- "But appetite is much much much better."
13 Jan 2016
- "She is a bit rough yesterday. Like if she doesn't like being told that she did something wrong, she would attack us."
- "Chest also still congested."
- Vinod: The congestion she has, you can hear something when she breaths or she keeps telling it to you?
Patient's mother: "We see a deep hollow mark on her neck. Like she is breathing with just upper lungs."
- Vinod: The deep hollow mark is always there? Or only during inhalation? Or only during exhalation?
Patient's mother: "Inhalation."
- Vinod: Is this worse at 3 am too?
Patient's mother: "Oh, I don't know."
- Vinod: Try to observe that if possible. And the depth of the hollowness is the same exactly or slightly less now?
Patient's mother: "Okay, I will observe."
17 Jan 2016
- "She is doing better, especially with her expressing herself."
- "Only complaints now are:
- Still great desire for cold water.
- Hands and feet becomes icy cold at certain times. I am not sure what is causing the icy coldness."
- "The hollow spot at the front of her neck ... it's actually there all the time, and it has reduced in hollowness now. It gets worse if she runs and exerts herself."
- Vinod: When was the last improvement you noticed? Everyday till today she is still improving?
Patient's mother: Hmmm ... last improvement was on 14 Jan 2016. Had some sneezing and now less. She is more content. That's the most noticeable improvement.
- Patient's mother: She seemed to have gone very thin after the last illness. Will this remedy help?
Vinod: Yes, didn't her appetite improve like you said?
Patient's mother: Yeah ... still thin, that's why wondering.
Vinod: What was her last illness?
Patient's mother: The cold and asthma, and fever before that.
- Vinod: Alright, I looked up under Thuja again, for the specifics. It covers frozen limbs, appetite for cold drinks and food, and emaciation of affected parts. So this is it and let us wait patiently.
Patient's mother: Okay, happy to hear that.
- Patient's mother: Two more things. She is also having brown spots on her face, more on her right side. And when we joke with her she seems very sensitive to the joke and cries. Part of Thuja too?
Vinod: Don't joke in a teasing manner. Joke only in a way where she's not directly involved as a character. If the joke relates to a third person, fine. But she herself should not be the character involved. Go with this approach for now. Last time you said white spots, now brown? Is it after Thuja only?
Patient's mother: White spots was more on body. Brown spots was on face. I didn't mention this last time but after Thuja it's more prominent. That's why I remembered to tell you now.
Vinod: Then okay. It comes out and later disappears.
Patient's mother: Ok.
Symptoms and History
11 Jan 2016 interview
- Lost her voice now. Never had loss of voice before this.
- Over the last month she has been developing white patches on the face.
- She is having breathing difficulties with stomach ache. She used to have this more than 1 year ago, which ended in her having pneumonia. He treated her with chinese medicine and she recovered. She was well for the whole year until just before coming here.
- She had diarrhoea.
- Then became extremely upset.
- Then had constipation.
- Could not walk.
- Burning after passing urine.
- My Homeopath asked to take Staphisagria, and she could walk again.
- Cought a cold on the day we were boarding the plane to Malaysia, in November 2015.
- She was super excited.
- I mean very excitable, heart beating fast.
- I used Arsenic and Aconite, and she got better.
- Then she started saying she is cold. Like when we went to Penang and at the natural waterfalls, she would get in the water then say she is cold. I think she was having internal chills.
- Nose itchy.
- Anus itchy or burning.
- She would say she is sad.
- At night when she is in bed, she will scratch something with her fingers and toes - restless fingers and toes. Also in bed during afternoon nap time, when she wakes up.
- She would get up around 4 am and say she is having stomach ache.
- We would give her food and she will go to toilet. Then she would be all right.
- I thought I should give Hydrastis because it is said to be used after Tuberculinum (50M potency, given 4 months ago). So I started giving her Hydrastis 6x, just 2 weeks ago, twice a day, for 3 days. Most of her complaints went away, but she started having stomach ache, chest pain, headache, sweat - so I stopped it.
- Then now:
- She is having runny nose.
- Then cough.
- Then went into asthma (Ventolin did not work).
- So we are giving her Pneumo 1 and Pulmo vivianit (it is helping a bit).
- But she says tummy is painful when she coughs.
- She complains of neck pain too, at the back of the neck. No particular circumstance, sometimes at night, or usually she says when we are in bed. But it is sort of there I think.
- All these are new.
- Yesterday we gave Pneumo 1 (Aconite China I think) and 2 (Pulmo Vivianit), to manage her cough and breathing.
- Q: Why she scratches "something" in bed at night? Have u asked?
A: Yeah ... she didn't say anything. It is like she gets this restless fingers and leg in bed.
- Q: Restlessness of fingers, and she scratches. Restlessness of the toes, what she does?
A: Also moves her toes against something, or she kicks legs on bed.
- Q: How long does this restlessness last? Until she sleeps?
A: Yeah
- Q: Her restlessness only on bed?
A: Yeah, from what I noticed.
- Oh yeah, sugar makes her go hyper restless. Even honey does that to her.
- Q: As for the sugar or honey contributing to hyper restlessness, what restlessness is this? Same as the one where fingers and toes scratching something in bed?
A: No, no. Just hyper ... like she is high.
10 Mar 2016 interview
- After yesterday's dose of Veratrum album 30c, screaming like mad for an hour.
- Wants to leave the house and go find another mother.
- Frequent urination. Went to toilet and then slept.
- Was calmer today morning but still in an irritated temperament.
- Never made it to the toilet at all today.
8 Dec 2016 interview (new)
- Breathing like chest was congested (6 Dec 2016). Her mother could not sleep through the night because of her constricted breathing sound.
- Pain all over body.
- Stomach very very painful.
- Runny nose (4 Dec 2016).
- Went for Accupuncture but still had asthma and complains of stomach pain at the same time.
- Loves to suck and eat up lemons like crazy.
27 Dec 2016 interview (new)
- Waking up early around 5:30 am or 6:00 am, then saying she is hungry.
- A lot of sneezing still.
- She seem to have like a lot of mosquito bite bumps on her. It is skin colour only. Certain food make it itchy, like wheat.
27 Jan 2017 interview (new)
- Like a shooting pain in her legs (from thigh to knee), since last 5 days. On both legs a few days ago, but last night it was just the left leg.
- Coughing every night at bedtime.
- Sometimes hungry after dinner when she is in bed, and thirsty too.
