Potassium Iodide or Kali hydriodicum,
a Syco-Syphilitic remedy

• Side - right-sided remedy (true for all Kalis)
• Pain - stitching pains (true for all Kalis)
• Oedema (sycotic) (true for all Kalis)
• Sensitiveness (true for all Kalis)
• Degenerative changes (syphilitic)
• Hot (sensation of heat)
• Modalities
  • < rest (true for all Kalis)
  • < pressure (true for all Kalis)
  • > motion (true for all Kalis)
  • > fresh/open air (due to Iodum component)
  • < by dampness (sycotic)
  • < at night (syphilitic)

• Limbs
  • An excellent joint remedy.
  • Oedema in the joints.

• Degenerative arthritis (degenerative joint disease) / Osteoarthritis - Kali iod, Calc Fl, Phytolacca.
  • Kali iod & Phytolacca are very close on this (< from damp, < at night, right-sided), difference being that Phytolacca has < by motion and > by rest.
  • Phytolacca will never have oedema in the joints, nor will there be any < from pressure.
• Bryonia & Rhus-tox are right-sided too.
• Bryonia & Kali iod both have huge swellings in the joints but their modalities are opposite. If both Bryonia and Kali iod does not work, Sulphur normally comes to the rescue.
• Kali carb oedema is concentrated on the eyes, Kali iod oedema is concentrated around the knee-joint.
• Kali iod & Phytolacca are almost polychrests for joint pains.

• 12c is good, as there is already a lot of degenerative changes. 30c is okay too.
